Abstract:
This study examined 6~9-year -olds’attention orientingtriggered by centrally presented visual cues :Eye gaze ,hand ,arrowor the Chinese character whichsymbolizes direction.7-and 8-year -olds’orienting attentionto centrally presented cues i mproved significant— ly,which means 7year maybe a special stage for attention orienting to centrally presented cues .The 6-year -olds children exhibited cuing effect to eye gaze ,and the effect i mproved with age .But only 8-and 9-year -olds children can orient attention to hand and arrowcue . And the cuing effect of Chinese character beganin 8-year -olds ,and enhances significantlyfor 9-year -olds .The results suggested that eye gaze may be a kind of special cues
