Abstract:
Mortality salience effects refer to the worldview defense or self-esteem striving caused by mortality salience. The measurement of mortality salience effects can be carried out by examing the subjects’ reactions on worldview defense or self-esteem striving after mortality salience. The evidence of mortality salience effects is from multiple domains, including health, consumption, justice, politics and peace, and it is inspiring in real life.In the future, researchers should refine the concept of worldview, and take advantage of the viewpoints on life and death in indigenous culture.
